Purpose and Strategic Priorities

At Deafness Foundation, well-being and equality for people who are deaf and hard of hearing is at the forefront of what we’re working together towards.

We aim to achieve this by focusing on:​

• Access

• Awareness

• Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention.

Our programs and activities are designed to be a catalyst that helps community members reach their goals and fulfill their potential. They are built around three important domains- knowledge, respect and communication. 

Deafness Foundation has established its 3 year Strategic Plan for the period 2017-2019. The strategic priorities are listed below:

 

  1. Expand the Foundation’s role in minimizing the incidence of preventable hearing loss.

  2. Enhance awareness in the community of issues for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

  3. Strengthen and build partnerships and collaborative relationships.

  4. Support people with hearing loss.

  5. Serve Australia wide in all aspects of our operations.

  6. Increase and diversify fundraising streams.

The Foundation has project teams to focus on the following key areas:
